What's been happening: Baby is now in its 18th week. He/she is approx 240gms and 15cm in length. This week if the baby is a girl, the vagina, uterus and fallopian tubes are in place. If its a boy, the genitals are distinct and recognisable (eeeeeeek!). And as for me, I've been fine this week, physically anyway, just a bit low on energy.
Weight gained: I've always had trouble with my thighs. They are such stubborn bastards. They are my "problem area". But just before I got pregnant, they were actually making some improvements. Aka; they weren't touching, this was huge for me! Now, they are rapidly closing in on that gap again and it is killing me!! Although my eating habits have been far from fantastic, but I have been doing my lunges & squats regularly. Might have to rein in on all those delicious carbs....
My boobs have made a mighty comeback aswel, when I stopped breastfeeding they went down to a teeny (and very empty) C cup, I was stoked! But we're back into my E bras now... The small boobs were fun while they lasted anyway.
Food cravings: Oli and I are doing another sugar free week so chocolate has been on my mind (it's only day 2 by the way). But I'm substituting for a milo each night which I know has sugar but I make my own rules. Also, sushi, big time. So I had it yesterday, and it came with a side of guilt but man it was SO incredibly satisfying. Also, my morning black coffee has made a return for the last couple of days. I am a total rebel. I'm actually going to check in with my midwife about sushi and coffee because I know you're allowed some caffeine just not bucketloads, and sushi is ok so long as its fresh and not raw fish I think? I won't google it though. Mostly because I won't like what I read...
Sleep: Battling it out with my boobs and my belly at the mo for continued front sleeping. They are not liking the angle but I will not give up, not yet...
Miss anything: Really really intense workouts where I physically feel like throwing up and am handicapped for the next 2 days. My semi sweats and slight twinges are not sufficient. I would also love to get drunk. But that goes without saying..
Fun/ interesting things for the week: Starting to feel it move has been very cool, makes it a lot more real.
Happy or moody: Feeling good this week
Looking forward to: The scan in just 3 days!! Boy or girl?! I just don't know!
Bump update: This was this morn, I compared it to my last pregnancy shot at 19 weeks and I'm definitely much bigger. But all in all I'm happy with my progress so far, and I don't feel like I've gained too much yet.
Workouts: I've been sticking to the gym on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays lately and it's been really good. I've started running on the treadmill again aswel, just doing 5km stints but its really good to get back into that. Haven't been doing as much walking or yoga though but I do plan on doing a big walk around kings park today.
Movement: We have movement people! Tiny kicks all day, it's very cool!
Food Aversions: I had spag bol the other night and my aversion was confirmed, mince is revolting.
