We kicked off the day with the usual breakfast/play/nap routine, the napping part isn't going too smoothly at the moment though. After an hr or two of protests, I gave up, collected the little monster from her cot and buckled her into the car. We were off to the gym! And man it was so good. I love how the crèche ladies are really enthusiastic about their jobs and they seem to genuinely love kids. So I've got no qualms about dumping Blake with them for an hr to get in a good workout. I did an intense incline walk for 30 mins and was a sweaty mess by the end of it- followed up with some back work which I'm really feeling today! Especially carrying round the not-so-light-these-days child. The endorphins kicked in not long after and that + the mixture of sunshine really changed my mood for the day...
I often find a workout can either work two ways at the moment... It can either be an incredible stress reliever and do the world of wonders, or I can feel physically ill and extremely tired for the rest of the day. Pregnancy eh!
Seeing as the sunshine was being so inviting, we headed off for our first trip to the beach for the season. Blake had an absolute ball throwing sand in her own face and re-enacting seagull squawks (hilarious), but then her alter ego reared her ugly head once she realised she was extremely tired due to her lack of naps. "Don't say I didn't try darling!" So off home we went to not nap once more. Brilliant!
Today is shaping up to be even warmer,
And we don't have a lot planned yet, but I will lay out my yoga mat when B decides to sleep and get in some good stretches to even out yesterday's workout.
This is what my dream day would consist of on a day like today; an overly happy and compliant baby who loves dipping her feet in the ocean, my kindle, some cold fresh sushi & a few cold beers
Reality; I can smell a nappy from another room right now (and that's saying something as my nose is still semi blocked up) so that won't be pretty, water water and more water, pee.. *5mins later* pee and then I'll need to pee again, and I can't for the life of me decide what to eat for breakfast without provoking nausea! Joy! But really, I'm just whinging- today will be brilliant, I can feel it in my bones.
I hope wherever you are the sun is also shining for you!
Here's one of my fav covers of this summer song by Yuna to get you in the mood, listen to it- it is magic.
It's from the movie "Savages" soundtrack

Thought of the day; "she'll sleep any second now, I just know it"
